My experiences
of connecting to the Internet
On 16th
January 2002 my AnyTime account was terminated
without warning. On 30th January I eventually
managed to speak by telephone to a member of
server support who was able to explain the reason
why the account had been terminated. After I was
able to demonstrate that I was not at fault, my
account was immediately 'unlocked' and I received
the following email:
"Please see below a
copy [omitted] of the posting regarding
which we received a complaint. The
account was locked on Data Protection
grounds because the posting included what
appeared to be the name and address of a
private individual.
Following our conversation I can confirm
that the account __.fsnet.co.uk has been
unlocked on the basis that the name and
address was available in the public
domain via http://www.webwho.co.uk/ under the domain
www.____.org". |
I did not choose to reinstate the
AnyTime account because I had subsequently opened
an account with Plus.net. The graphic below shows
my usage since January on the Plus.net Unmetered
Connect Lite service costing £8.99p per month,
equating to less that 2pence for 10 minutes
online at any time of the day. Other services
available include business accounts and broadband
services.
Yours sincerely, Richard Parsons.
